Hats
I prefer to run hatless, to let my head breathe, but if it’s: raining, really cold, or sunny, I will don some head gear. I have gone through a plethora of hats and visors, and these are my current favorites:
Brooks Nightlife Hat-This hat is specifically for nighttime running, but I purchased it for running in the rain, and it has proved to be an amazing all-around hat. Good for: night-time running, running in the sun, running in cooler weather. It has a battery operated LED light with two settings: steady on, and flashing. I tend to use the flashing one. It also has a larger than average bill, which is great for rain running. It really keeps my face dry! And that large bill is also great for keeping my face shaded on sunny, cool days.
Sunshield Visor-On warm, sunny days, I prefer just a visor so my head doesn’t overheat. The brim keeps the sun out of my eyes, and off my face, but allows the top of my head to breathe. It’s also made of mesh, which is code for breathable!
Infiniti Women’s Beanie-And on cold days (under 40 degrees for me), I wear a beanie. I love this beanie because of its ponytail hole (just the women’s)! They make a men’s version, too. Or, if you are a man who has a ponytail, great! Buy the women’s!
